Early morning play...

This morning I decided to play with my new stamps again from Stampin Up. When I was in Fl this past summer I took some pictures of Hummingbirds at my mother and father in laws house... can't seem to find them right now so I went searching the net and found this little jem...

I wanted the image of my hummingbird to be as close to it as I could... I dearly love watching these birds. And when I got my new catty I knew I had to get this set.. Spring Song.

To achieve the look I used my mom's set of Stampin Up Metallic Art Pencils. I wanted to give my hummingbird the shine that this one had. I think I came close...

This card uses the spotlight technique... It is so much fun to pick just the right area of an image to highlight... And you can use a large image and not have to color the whole thing...

To blend my colors together I grabbed some odorless mineral spirits(gamsol). Just like prismas these pencils blend so smoothly on an image. Well I'm off to go play I have a workshop to prepare for in two weeks and I'll try and share some cards but the workshop cards have to wait til after the show... have a great Monday...

Supplies:
Stamps: Spring Song by Stampin UP!
Cardstock: whisper white, bordering blue, old olive
Ink: Basic Black classic ink
Accessories: Metallic Art Pencils, so saffron marker, bordering blue marker, basic grey taffeta ribbon, oddorless mineral spirits(gamsol)
