Christmas cards... and a little birthday thank you..

Thank you all who have posted the birthday wishes yesterday and today. I had a fun birthday dinner with my husband and kids as well as my aunt and my parents. After eating so much yummy food from Olive Garden I was so ready for a day at the gym again. Those bread sticks at OG are to die for. ... I have almost enough cards made now to send them out on Friday... I may even mail a few on Thursday on my way to my mom's surgery. I am not sure if I will have a post on Thursday due to her surgery and my husband's boat Christmas party that night. But I will try and post a few cards tomorrow...

Now on to today's Christmas cards...

These cards I started working on Monday but just could not get the right main image to work with what I had planned. I knew I wanted to use the snowman dp from my figgy pudding pad by basic grey. I added little rhinestones to each snowflake on the paper. I loved the look after that and wanted to find a great image but it seems I still am not happy with my main image but it has to make due...

I wanted to use a snowman like the one in SU retiring set Frosty but not in my collection yet( but it will be). Instead I grabbed my snowman from the SU set called Jolliest Time of the Year. He is ok but I still wish I had frosty here. I used my prismapencils and gamsol on the image to color it to match the paper. After making this card I realized I need to order more of PaperTrey Inc stampers select white cardstock. I like to make my white card bases from it and I'm running a little low. It is a little thicker than whisper white and is a great cardbase.

Well I'm off to go play with my new cuttlebug for a little while ... Oh my husband let me have it as my birthday present and he said he is going shopping without me sometime here soon.... wonder what he may get me... have a great night.

A Calender and a Card...

Today And yesterday I started this little project and little is not really what i would call it...

Shrink plastic and I had fun with this... I added different little charms to some of the months. Here are a few pictures of them and you can click on any picture to enlarge them... The designer papers come from The Angel Company Rustic Chic stack.

February
I took the heart from Stampin Up Year after year and had it shrunk to fit my page....

April Showers
Of Course April showers bring May flowers... Stamp sets shrunk for these two months are And Everything Nice and Summer by the Sea. These were such fun sets to color. And I love them shrunk down... may even have to shrink a few more for a piece of jewelry.

May Flowers

July Summer fun

Harvest time September

Had to play with my apples from Give Thanks...

November Thanksgiving pumpkin

Again Give Thanks gives a great pumpkin for the month of November.

December with Santa and a Tree
I had to shrink a Santa and a tree from Jolliest Time of the Year. Isn't Santa just the cutest.

Now this calender took me alittle while to complete but I just love the out come. Supplies for this project were 7 medium weight chipboard coasters, designer papers. Calender print outs, Shrink plastic, cuttlebug alpha set for my 2008 numbers on the cover, some ribbon, binder rings I found in the office supply section at walmart.

Oh and of course the card I promised...

I did this a few days ago... And mailed it out to a friend.

Supplies for this: Give Thanks, watercolor crayons, aquapainter, watercolor paper, creamy caramel cardstock, creepy crawly dp, really rust cardstock, Trees backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms, twill ribbon tape.

Sorry I haven't post much this week but my life seems to be turning in so many ways lately. I hope everyone has a great afternoon and I hope I can be back soon with another fun project.

PreVSN challenge...

I decided this morning I would try out a preVSN challenge before the kids get up to go to school. Wanted to get my creative juices flowin... This is challenge SEP07VSNPre4. It can be found here. I decided to go with a selection of earth elements colors.

The idea was to take fall colors and create a Christmas card. I had fun with it. I also used the tutorial Beate shared with everyone on Wednesday over on SplitCoastStampers. It can be found here.

Supplies for this card can be found here

Here is a close up of my insert card. I even used a dollar Micheal's stamp on it. I tried so hard to use only current Stampin Up supplies but I failed... Oh well I will have to try another card challenge latter.

Trying a few challenges...

Today I decided to try a few challenges over on Splitcoaststampers... My first attempt was ok...

Supplies for this card can be found listed HERE.

This Challenge was entitled LSC130 oldies but goodies. We had to combine an old color challenge and an old sketch challenge. I used Sketch challenge SC50 and color challenge CC27. I didn't quite stick to the color challenge as it was to use only handsome hunter, taken with teal and green galore. I added in some red and yellow stickles. Not to thrilled with it but it is not too bad either...

On to the next challenge....

This was the sketch challenge for this week SC 138. This card I liked. Of course I had to take a close up of the tree for you to see all the details and sparkles... isn't it pretty.

Supplies for this card can be found listed HERE.

Hope you all have a great weekend... we will be doing lots of yard work so maybe I will get a chance to play sometime....
