Well I got this little project done...

Back during Christmas I started making glass etchings with stamps .... remember this post here or this one. Well one of my friends needed a piece to give to her daughter-in-law as a gift. They had a baby at the end of may so I made this for her...

I used the retired SU set Maternal Instincts for the image. I could not just give her the empty jar. I filled it with cotton balls and made a matching card to go with it.

I used pretty in pink classic ink, pretty in pink cardstock, very vanilla cardstock and some designer papers from SU from the may special pallet of prints(preview of new designer papers coming in the new catty in July). I then took some ribbon I got from one of Jody Morrow's Awesome Ribbon Shares. Well off to see what else I can come up with today... Have a great evening.

Teachers gifts... want to see?

After struggling with ideas all the way down to the last day to get them done. I have been debating on what to do for my son's 2 teacher's this year. Last year I gave the teacher a stamp set but this year I thought i would make something. Well after playing with emboss resist etching i decided to go this route. I went to Walmart and picked up to glass square candle holders for $5.88 each and etched Stampin up's large snowflake out of the Snowflake set. I also filled them with peppermints and a tealight. To show you the etching I took a candle and placed it in one of the candleholders.

I think the turned out pretty good. I have to take my son to school with them in the morning. I can't believe tomorrow is his last day til next year. This year has really passed by. Well off to work on another Christmas present for someone else tonight.... I really hate waiting for the last minute to get things done.

Ok ok...

OK I took the piece from my last post and showed them to a few friends. Well one of my friends has request to see a set with lighthouses... well I just happened to have the Stampin Up retired set of Coast to Coast and tonight I was lucky enough to get out and go to Walmart... I picked up four more plates and a couple more Jars. For those wondering about how much these pieces are for the glass. I got the plates for $1.47 each at walmart and found the Jars there also for $3.97. They have a larger jar but the sides are not that smooth... I also had someone aske me if this was food safe... yes this is food safe. I would also suggest that you wash these by had since most dishwashers seem to etch glassware over time.

Well any way I got to work on the four plates and these are what I was able to come up with.

I really enjoy playing with this and from all the posts on SCS, NCdemo yahoo group, and here on my blog I really want to thank you for letting me know how much you are enjoying my blog and my projects. I have only been doing this for just over a month and I hope to keep going. It has been a fun and enjoyable experience so far and I am learning so much from other bloggers as I go. Thank you all so much.
Well hopefully tomorrow I will try and work on a card to change this up alittle...

Etching on Glass...

New technique I decided to try that was posted on Splitcoaststampers.com under Emboss resist etching tutorial...
I took Stampin Up newest Stanta stamp set A Merry Little Christmas and embossed on the glass plate. I took Armor Etching creme to etch over the embossing and was able to come up with this really pretty plate... now that I have successfully done this I am going to make a few Christmas presents....

I really got bored tonight and had to do the other piece of glass I had... now I need to go get the rest of the different sizes that walmart had... I used Stampin Up retired Stippled Rose on this one... I wish they had never retired this stamp. This is actually a fun tutorial.
