A christmas card in January......

Yup it's a Christmas card but hey it gets me started for this years...I actually thought of this design last night as I went to sleep... don't you love it when it hits you as you lay your head down...

Well I went with it this morning and I don't think it looks to bad and of course i started this year looking for the perfect sentiments to go inside my cards and you know this one had to have one too. Well I went to Two Peas in a bucket and did a search on snowflakes. I found the perfect poem to go inside this card.

This card was fun but I may add more to it latter... I love this stamp out of SAB set So Many Scallops. I can see using it alot of different ways even maybe using the faux metal with it...

I made the circle in the front of the card using the tab punch it is perfect for making a circle to go around your scallop circles.
I printed out my verse on a piece of shimmery white cardstock.. I stamped my image using blue bayou classic ink and did some faux stitching with a white gel pen around the edge of the card...

Hope you enjoyed today's card... I off to try a sketch out on CPS. I'll be back with that alittle latter have a great afternoon.

Supplies:
Stamps: So Many Scallops
Cardstock: Blue bayou, shimmery white
Ink: blue bayou
Accessories: white gel pen, soft sky stitched ribbon, tab punch

I have been bitten............

Well I have cuttlebug-itis as on splitcoaststampers. I broke down and bought the swirl A2 embossing folder for the cuttlebug and used my sizzix machine to work on this card...

I so want more of these now but everywhere I have looked they are sold out of the ones I want to add to my collection.

For the card I used some of my wishrak pieces of scalloped circles and I found the stamp at Walmart last night... they had a few sets of three for only $3.97. I colored the image with my twinkling watercolor cakes... pewter, wild blueberry, and honey amber... it is so pretty in real life. I used the happy holidays stamp from Stampin up's hostess set Warmest Regards... I so do not need another tool to add to my collection but oh well.

Teachers gifts... want to see?

After struggling with ideas all the way down to the last day to get them done. I have been debating on what to do for my son's 2 teacher's this year. Last year I gave the teacher a stamp set but this year I thought i would make something. Well after playing with emboss resist etching i decided to go this route. I went to Walmart and picked up to glass square candle holders for $5.88 each and etched Stampin up's large snowflake out of the Snowflake set. I also filled them with peppermints and a tealight. To show you the etching I took a candle and placed it in one of the candleholders.

I think the turned out pretty good. I have to take my son to school with them in the morning. I can't believe tomorrow is his last day til next year. This year has really passed by. Well off to work on another Christmas present for someone else tonight.... I really hate waiting for the last minute to get things done.

WORKING ON SANTA CARDS AND OR GIFT TAGS....

I could not pass these two stamps from Whipper Snapper arts. I found them at Addicted to Rubberstamping. Last week they had a sale going on with free shipping needless to say I bought these two and some Twinkling H2Os... some more watercolor tools. Well tonight I took out the new watercolor cakes and these stamps and got to play before bed.... yes I am a night owl tonight... with the cantata at church and the holiday season my time seems to have me doing everyday housework and my crafting late at night while the kids sleep.

I took some of stampin ups Love notes from the new winter mini to use as my base for these. I stamped the image in basic black and used both stampin up's watercolor crayons and my new Twinkling H2Os. The twinkling H2Os add a shimmer to the image and they have such beautiful colors... the only reason I used my Stampin up crayon's is because I have yet to get a red in these great new watercolor cakes. Each color comes in a little cake in its own little container... They have 144 different colors as of right now... I see a new addiction... After coloring in my images I took my gelly roll stardust pen and outline my penguins to add to the sparkles... I really wish I could pick up the sparkle these have with my camera... well I am off for the night and will try to be back tomorrow with something new..

Something new...

Yes I got something new in the mail yesterday and have to say it seems like some good adhesive. I found out about this from Dawn's blog. i was able to get some free adhesive to try it out. If you have a blog and would like to check some of this out please take a look at...Maria's blog. I really like the scrapbooking pen. I used it to adhered the sentiment on this card ...
It is so easy to use. The other adhesive is good too.. I have been working on my teachers Christmas gifts for my son and they seem to be holding really well but i am not quite done with them so will have to update you latter on these. on the card however I used a window sheet and stamped the snowflakes on it with the new white stazon pad stampin up is offering this year. they show up so well.

So far I really have been enjoying trying out this new adhesive and would recommend that if you can try it out.

New stuff....

Well back a few weeks ago I got a Sizzix die cutter... well last week sizzix.com was having a thanksgiving sale. Everything they had in stock was 50% off. Well when you buy from them your order is a minimum of $25. I did the minimum and got four new die cuts and two embossing folders. I love the embossing folders. One of them I got was a set of deer running... I took this one out tonight to make a cute Christmas card. I used shimmery white card stock, brushed gold card stock, and black card stock. I used my A Merry Little Christmas stamp set from Stampin Up's holiday mini and watercolored the image with my Watercolor crayons and my aquapen. The deer look perfect blow the image.

I found the bow and bell at walmart and thought it was such a cute charm. After playing with the embossing folders I want more of them.... dry embossing has never been so easy.

CHRISTMAS PLAYING...

Well since it is that time of year I decided to add a few ornament to my tree that my kids and I can make this year. My first ornament that I made was inspired by Amanda's tutorial on making pine cone ornaments she posted I came up with my first pine cone ornament. I used our new paper Enchante from the winter mini. I thought it came out very nice. I may make a few more. My mom was amazed and I think she may try.

Of course I have my sister's kids here so I thought I might let them make a few ornaments. I broke down a couple of weeks ago and got a sizzix die cut machine and have been buying dies for it lately. One of the dies is a large Santa head. I went to Michael's and bought a large package of the foam sheets and die cut some and came up with this...

I used some blush card stock to help with Santa's skin tone. And I found the cutest little bells with a ribbon bow at walmart to help make the hanger for him. I am letting the kids make one each and a few other items since they are here for the week and they can take them home and hang them on their tree.

I sat down this morning and I made another pine cone ornament using the recollection papers by stampin up. I think it turned out great.

Not Stamping today...

Not stamping today but I did do this today...

and Had fun doing it... this is my favorite time of year and I will be doing some stamping projects to add to my tree here in the next week or so. But I just love this season for more than just the idea of presents and trees. It is a time with family, friends and the main reason of the season Jesus.

I am going to miss my husband while he is deployed but plan to keep plenty of pictures for him to see when he gets home... I got my youngest two to stand in front of the tree for this picture...
My husband does get the chance to check my blog when they get to pull into a port so here's to hoping he sees how pretty our tree is this year.

New stamps...

Well I went over to check out the sale The Angel Company was having on some of their old sets. I just could not pass up on a few of these. The sets I got have the look of the Bratz dolls. But they are so cute. I grabbed a couple of bottles of the fun flock too to try it out. I had never played with it before tonight and I just love what it did to my card. I used Stampin Up's Warmest Regards for the sentiment and The Angel Company's stamp sets Make it Merry and their hostess set mini sampler for the images. I watercolored the girl with my WWC then took some glue over her outfit to put the two different colors of fun flock on her outfit to make it look and feel just like a Santa's helper outfit. I stamped the mini sampler with versamark stamp pad on the handsome hunter. Then framed the sentiment and the girl in real red. I think I am going to have to play with my Santa sets with fun flock too now.
