oh .... love what new stamps can do...

Yes... I am having fun playing with all my new stamps I got yesterday. One set I got I was not too sure about getting but now after playing with it I love this set. It is called Trees Three from stampin up's winter mini. The card I made today makes me yearn for spring now. This weather we have been having lately has been so awful. You never know what type of clothing to wear. It is either 70 degrees or like in the 30s. I just wish it would pick a temp and stay there. Preferably on the warmer side now. Well here is a simple card put together with this stamp set....

I used the stamp set trees three. Cardstock I used on this card was sage shadow and very vanilla. I stamped the tree bases using chocolate chip. Then I took a sponge and mellow moss ink to put down a base for the tree shape. I stamped the leaves in garden green. Then since I was in a spring mood I took the flower stamp and stamped it in both rose red and pretty in pink. The pretty in pink flowers are very light and hard to see in the picture. For added effect I took my gelly roll stardust pen and rolled it over the rose red flowers. I stamped the sentiment in basic black ink.

Now how much longer til Spring.

WT96...

Ways to use it challenge on splitcoaststampers was to use some watercolor paper. Here is my example for this challenge.

I used Stampin Up's Butterfly of Happiness stamp set on watercolor paper, very vanilla cardstock, almost amethyst, and tempting turquoise. I stamped the butterflies using twinkling H2Os. They gave this card some sparkle. I stamped the sentiment in black ink. The sparkly ribbon was given to me by MsAudreyAnn on splitcoaststampers for my birthday and I thought it went well with this card.

I also need to thank my friend who gave me this beautiful stamp set for christmas. Kelly thanks it was so much fun to play with it.

Like it a Latte....

I finally broke down and got this set. And all I can say is it is so much fun. I hope this makes it into next years catty. Before playing with it i had to order some scented embossing powders from Cornish Heritage Farm. They got here today and you know I had to play.

For this card I used whisper white, some designer paper(not sure what name brand it is), tempting turquoise, and regal rose cardstock. I ran the tempting turquoise paper through my sizzix with my divine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder then layered the other cardstock on top. I took and stamped the coffee cup image with chocolate chip ink. Then I took the foam stamp and stamped it with my versamark ink and embossed it with my coffee and creme scented embossing powders. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line the foam up just right over the top of the cup. I also took some liquid applique to fill the foam in and give it a 3d effect. I stamped the steam in chocolate chip ink then took my stardust pen to give it alittle sparkle. I added a scalloped punch with the sentiment to it to complete the card. I think i will send this to my husband for valentines.

WORKING ON SANTA CARDS AND OR GIFT TAGS....

I could not pass these two stamps from Whipper Snapper arts. I found them at Addicted to Rubberstamping. Last week they had a sale going on with free shipping needless to say I bought these two and some Twinkling H2Os... some more watercolor tools. Well tonight I took out the new watercolor cakes and these stamps and got to play before bed.... yes I am a night owl tonight... with the cantata at church and the holiday season my time seems to have me doing everyday housework and my crafting late at night while the kids sleep.

I took some of stampin ups Love notes from the new winter mini to use as my base for these. I stamped the image in basic black and used both stampin up's watercolor crayons and my new Twinkling H2Os. The twinkling H2Os add a shimmer to the image and they have such beautiful colors... the only reason I used my Stampin up crayon's is because I have yet to get a red in these great new watercolor cakes. Each color comes in a little cake in its own little container... They have 144 different colors as of right now... I see a new addiction... After coloring in my images I took my gelly roll stardust pen and outline my penguins to add to the sparkles... I really wish I could pick up the sparkle these have with my camera... well I am off for the night and will try to be back tomorrow with something new..

Swap Again...

Well last night I stayed up to finish up the card fronts for a swap I am in for the new winter min. I signed up to use woodland cottage. I had to make 16+1 for the swap. I used the floral backround using tone on tone for the background. The cardstock I used was Almost Amethyst, sage shadow, and Whisper White. My corner rounder got a work out on these. I hope they look ok. I guess after this swap I need to change up and start using some other stamps. Maybe latter tonight I will get a chance to drag out something else to stamp with.

Also I need to hear from my drawing winner from last month... I still have your stamps and want to get them to you... Diann D. please email or contact me on Splitcoaststampers so I can get these out to you.

Well as promised

Well as promised I would play with some of that chipboard. I did today since it was so rainy. I made a mini book I plan to send to my mother-in-law for her birthday. I am a little late but I know she will forgive me once I add the pictures in the book. The book is the perfect size to put in her pocketbook and take it to church and brag about those grandkids.

Don't you think it's cute. I used the Woodland Cottage from Stampin Up's new winter mini and colored it in with Prisma color pencils this time. I used some of the enchante paper also from the winter mini to cover the two pieces of chipboard I needed for the cover. Then I took some sage shadow and almost amethyst to make my pages inside.
I also took some more of the enchante paper and used my circle punch to make tabs on the pages. I hope she is going to enjoy this.... I found out how to make this book from Beate on Splitcoaststampers. Her ideas are so great. She shared this idea on a thread in general stamping because everyone was wondering what the excitement was about these great coasters.

I think I may make a few of these for my son's teachers for christmas...

VSN update

Well I am still at it today with VSN on Splitcoaststampers.com. It is so much fun. I thought I might slip in and show you my favorite card I have made this weekend so far this weekend...

I used the Woodland Cottage stamp set from the winter mini. I found the saying on the net and played with my printer and fonts to get it to print out on Vellum cardstock. Then stamped the cottage on white cardstock so that the verse would be on top of the cottage. The idea of this challenge was that the words would be the main focus of the card. I used a piece of ribbon to attach the two pieces of cardstock together. I think after seeing the way this turned out I may change a few of my Christmas designs. I am also going to be sending this to my husband since he is overseas and will be there through the holidays.

The saying on the card reads... forever on thanksgiving day the heart will find the way home.

Winter Mini preview....

Well I thought since I am playing with my stamps tonight why not give a preview of a set that is in the new winter mini for Stampin Up. It is called Woodland Cottage and I just love it... there are 4 stamps in this set. And it is a great set to watercolor.

I used Sage shadow for my cardbase along with some of the new papers also from Enchante to help set this off. The Enchante papers are so beautiful... Everything in this mini is so pretty. I can't stress how much I love SU watercolor papers and their Watercolor crayons. I also used the white gel pen to highlight the house a bit. They are so nice. Well off to see what else I can create tonight and have ready for a new post in the morning.

Oh I know I am in Trouble Now....

For those of you that are fellow demos for SU you know what I am talking about.... Stampin Up has released the winter mini to the demos and OH boy does it have some great stuff in it. I was planning on saving lots of money during the holidays but now I know it will be hard to do.... They have great new papers, some beautiful new sets, and a new punch. And for those beginner stampers or for those that want to try out a new technique there are six great new kits... with die cut stamps too. Well hopefully latter on I will get to stamp something new but for now I have the kids to go feed.....
