Finishing up a swap...

That is what I've been working on for the past few days and I finished them last night.



This is a part of an alphabet recipe tag swap using all SU stamps. This was very challenging for me to come up with. I had the letter "J" and the recipe I used is called "Jack Pot Casserole." All the recipes in this swap sound so good and I can't wait to see what I get back. I have to run these to the post office this afternoon.

I decided to use my five point flower punch and use the flower as a closure. I also read about using the new scallop border punch to create a faux ricrack. you know I had to try it out and boy doing 27 of these made me wonder if I was going to have to order a second punch by the time the new catty comes out. (FYI I got notice that they are submitted to the supplier and they hopefully will be here next week maybe....) I am loving the new stuff that SU has been showing us and can't wait to see what this new catty is gonna have.

Well I have to run this to the post office very soon so have a great afternoon....

Playin with June special.

I signed up to do a swap card with some of the NCDemos on Yahoo. And had to design a full card using this months special and all SU supplies.. I went with the crayon resist and a push pull card...



This set is so pretty... and you can get it this month from SU at a great price. It is a sneak peek from the fall and winter catty coming in August too.
The note cards are adorable that you can also get with this special. But back to my card...






I stamped the main image with black stazon ink on to Glossy cardstock and then colored in sections with a white crayon that I wanted to stay white... I then brayered so saffron over the image and buffed off the white crayon once the ink was dry...

I could not resist to add some of that glorious chocolate chip satin ribbon SU had during the holidays.. I hope it returns in the new catty. I love ribbon.

Today's my Dad's Birthday... so I'm off to go see what I can get done for him tonight... have a great day...

Storms and Swaps...

What could be a better way to spend your time during a storm than getting a swap done and ready to put in the mail.... I almost had to back out this month but boy am I glad I didn't. I am so happy with the way these swaps came out... This month swap was to be a masculine card front... these are so hard for me but wow...



I decided to breakout my poor neglected watercolor pencils and use them... It's been over a year since they have been touched. What better way to make a masculine card than make a Father's Day one. And what better set than to use Stampin Up!'s Thoughts of a Father from the Spring catty.

I also decided to play with the faux wood graining technique GinaK uses... wow it looks so real. This card was actually so much fun to make and put together... hope you all are having a fun day... I'm getting so much rain and storms today I think I'll get some more work done around the house... I so want to see the sun again.

Swap Time again...

Today I started work on my swap cards for this month... actually yesterday I started them.. I sewed on them and I used a Technique from my December issue of Technique Junkies newsletter called Faux layers. Hope you enjoy today's card....


Another shocker to this card is I used my pretties kit to add a little something to my flower image. I am enjoying using my sewing machine to add a little something to my cards now. Sewing just gives each card a little more texture to the card I think along with some eye candy. I haven't quite finished these yet so I am off to finish coloring a few more flowers and adding them to the rest of the card fronts... have a great afternoon and stamp something happy...

Wow!!!

This is my 250th post..... I never thought I would be doing this blog for so long or even coming up with so many projects. I have really enjoy this being my creative outlet and sharing all my many things with you.... Now on to my project for today....




After seeing so many different cards on other bloggers sites using score marks for making faux tile or even framing your main image I had to try it with this card...
I loved my main image in this too... The new set Embrace Life is quickly becoming one of my favorite new sets. I'm also placing my first order out of the new catty on Tuesday ... you really should check out my list...

My Tease is revealed.....

So what do you think.... I ended up using so iridescent ice ep on the book mark... And I just love this new Stampin up set Embrace life.

This is card has a keepsake for the person who gets it... a lovely bookmark. Now I have to get to work on the other eleven of these.... but before I can do that I have Choir practice so I will be back latter tonight with the rest of the story for this card....


Well I made it back late and had to help my 10 year old finish his science project that was due today... hope he does well. Now back to my card... I see some have enjoyed it already. I had fun making it and the new SU catty inspired my color combo... I love the new catty look. And Ups delivered my new stamp set that I wanted to use on it just in time yesterday to get this cardfront done.... Some of this card was inspired by one of my favorite designers...Debbie Olsen. When I say her use of the Embrace Life Stamp set I knew I had to have that set in my collection. I so hope to one day be as great as her....


I saw the roses and knew what a great bookmark they would make... well now it is time to see what I can do today besides finish my housework and finish these swap cards.... hope you have a great day....

Swaps....

I had to get my Christmas swap done and in the mail today so I thought I would share here....





I decided to use Stampin Up Holy Triptych set... I just love this set. I did alot of embossing too. The sketch challenge from yesterday had me so inspired too...

Roses and Cards.....

Well another passion of mine is rose bushes and this week my four bushes have been putting on a beautiful show for me. I took several pictures this week of their beautiful blooms and thought I would share them with my readers....



Don't these roses looks so pretty.... I also have day lilies in full bloom and last night my husband let me get two new trees to go in my yard. I can't wait to put them in the ground... The trees are magnolias and I just love these trees and their blossoms they give off in the spring and summer time. We are hoping to do some yard work this afternoon and getting them in the ground...

Well on to my card design for the day.... I have a swap due in two weeks and this is what I have come up with...



I used Balloonabella from Stamping Bella. Here is a close up of her....

Supplies used stampin up watercolor paper, whisper white cs, regal rose cs, SU designer paper from winter mini. SU spritzer with regal rose marker, rose red marker, cameo coral marker. Stazon black ink pad and watercolor crayons with aquapainter. Crystal effects on balloons. And narrow silk ribbon from micheals to make french knot roses on dress...

This was a fun card to make... I now know what a difference it is to use watercolor paper with the crayons... I need to order more of this too.

All Packed and stamped to go...

Yup as you can see I am all packed up and ready to go stamp. Regionals is less than two days away. Got my camera, my stampin supplies, swaps, and my planner all right here. Well now I am off to go see what else I may have to add to my bag... snacks and crystal lite drink mixes maybe?

This was hard...

I joined a monthly swap last month and this month we had to come up with a masculine card design.... I really had to work on this one.



Here is the closeup of one...



I used my Summer by the Sea set from Stampin up to get a masculine image. Cardstock I used was night of navy, bordering blue, and very vanilla. I also took the diamond designer paper from Stampin Up's designer set called Sentimental Journey. I stamped the image in bordering blue clasic ink. After I got the elements together I thought it was missing something but could not put my finger on it. I showed it to my aunt tonight and she suggested something like ribbon or metal. I went with two little silver brads. I distressed the very vanilla cardstock on the edges.

Like I said in my last post I really am loving my ATG gun with doing these swaps. Have a stampin good night.

Can I Just Say....

I love my ATG gun... I have two swaps to knock out this weekend an I just got done with one with no adhesive issues. No gumming up inside the adhesive cartridge and no having to stop what I am doing and fix the problem.

Supplies I used for these is as follows: Real Red cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, SposaBella stamp, red micheals ribbon to make the roses, watercolor wonder crayons blush blossom and chocolate chip, always artichoke marker, bordering blue marker, star dust stickles and xmas red stickles, warmest regards stamp, and floral background stamp. Can't see the floral background in the picture but i used tone on tone ink real red. Bella is stamped with black stazon ink.

Sposabella you can get from stamping bella... isn't she beautiful. Well I am off to go try and get my second swap done hope you all have a good night...

Swap Again...

Well last night I stayed up to finish up the card fronts for a swap I am in for the new winter min. I signed up to use woodland cottage. I had to make 16+1 for the swap. I used the floral backround using tone on tone for the background. The cardstock I used was Almost Amethyst, sage shadow, and Whisper White. My corner rounder got a work out on these. I hope they look ok. I guess after this swap I need to change up and start using some other stamps. Maybe latter tonight I will get a chance to drag out something else to stamp with.

Autumn Elegance Kit...

The Autumn Elegance Kit from Stampin Up and the Country living Mag is so much fun to play with. I signed up for a swap before I even got my kit. The swap was for just card fronts and i think my two designs are great. Well without further ado here they are...


I didn't have a fall set until now and I really like this set of stamps in the kit. I added the stamp set Summer by the Sea to one because it just made me think of going to the beach on a fall day right at the beginning of the season. I used Not quite Navy cardstock, Summer sun and Very Vanilla. Ink that was used was Close to cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Creamy carmel, Pumpkin pie, and Ruby Red. I took an entire sheet of Very Vanilla and stamped the big Oak leaf and small oak leaf on the paper in random order with the fall colors. I used the masking technique to layer the leaves.... got to love those little yellow sticky notes. Little girls are always great blessings.



The second card front I used just the stamps from the autumn Elegance kit with a little watercolor wash of ruby red to add some color to the large leaf. I took a piece of Brushed gold cardstock to frame up the saying and ran the cardstock for the saying over my chocolate chip pad to give it a little something extra... I think this kit has so much to offer.
