Needed a note..

I need a quick note the other day and sat down at my desk and created this...

Instead of breaking out my copics, I grabbed my prisma pencils and gamsol and went to town with this adorable House Mouse image. These stamps are so cute.
I couldn't tell you how many times I catch myself chewing on pencils or even catch my kids and DH.... I'll be playing some this afternoon as I'm waiting on UPS to drop a package..

GinaK's sketch challenge...

Yesterday GinaK unveiled her new stamp sets... during which she had a few contests going on throughout her reveal party one of which was a card sketch. I decided to play along with it. I also got my hands on some new prisma pencils yesterday at Micheals with the 50% off coupon.... and I got the 48 pack with a bonus of 12 verithin pencils for $30... you know I had to color something with them.

I just love this house mouse image... It is actually a wishRak image I got a few months back. I think I need to invest in this stamp before I run out the images.
I decided to take a close up of the mouse and his strawberries. I used the gamsol magic technique with my pencils... you can find several tutorials around the web on this technique.

For my sentiment I used my new papertrey Ink set Year round puns... The birthday sentiment fits this image so well and I do need a few birthday cards this month...

I need some black brads but it seems I have run out so I grabbed my black copic marker and colored two silver ones in... Love my copics... I also took the hearts out of my papertrey ink set my punny valentine and created the row of hearts across the top of the card... well I am off to see what other kind of inspiration i can find around here while I clean... have a great Sunday afternoon...

Supplies:
Stamps: My punny Valentine, year round puns, house mouse image
Ink: black stazon, purely pomegrante

Christmas cards... and a little birthday thank you..

Thank you all who have posted the birthday wishes yesterday and today. I had a fun birthday dinner with my husband and kids as well as my aunt and my parents. After eating so much yummy food from Olive Garden I was so ready for a day at the gym again. Those bread sticks at OG are to die for. ... I have almost enough cards made now to send them out on Friday... I may even mail a few on Thursday on my way to my mom's surgery. I am not sure if I will have a post on Thursday due to her surgery and my husband's boat Christmas party that night. But I will try and post a few cards tomorrow...

Now on to today's Christmas cards...

These cards I started working on Monday but just could not get the right main image to work with what I had planned. I knew I wanted to use the snowman dp from my figgy pudding pad by basic grey. I added little rhinestones to each snowflake on the paper. I loved the look after that and wanted to find a great image but it seems I still am not happy with my main image but it has to make due...

I wanted to use a snowman like the one in SU retiring set Frosty but not in my collection yet( but it will be). Instead I grabbed my snowman from the SU set called Jolliest Time of the Year. He is ok but I still wish I had frosty here. I used my prismapencils and gamsol on the image to color it to match the paper. After making this card I realized I need to order more of PaperTrey Inc stampers select white cardstock. I like to make my white card bases from it and I'm running a little low. It is a little thicker than whisper white and is a great cardbase.

Well I'm off to go play with my new cuttlebug for a little while ... Oh my husband let me have it as my birthday present and he said he is going shopping without me sometime here soon.... wonder what he may get me... have a great night.

Playing with some mice....

I got some fun images in the mail yesterday and one of them was calling to me to be colored....

I'm in the Wish Rak group on SCS and every now and then I get some images in the mail to play with and these were sent to me by gmcbunny. You can find the WishRAK group on SCS here. If you are not yet a member you should join... it is a great way to get your hands on some of those images that you have yet to purchase but are dying to try out... I think this is a stamp I'm going to have to add to my collection.

Here is a close up of the main image. I colored it in using prisma color pencils and gamsol. You can find a great tutorial on this over on SCS, here. Also if you want you can find a great video tutorial on this here done by GinaK. I also used my star dust gelly roll pen to add a little sparkle to the Candy canes.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse image, So many sayings
Cardstock: Soft sky, basic grey figgy pudding, creamy caramel, whisper white
ink: versa mark, stazon black, soft sky
Accessories: soft sky double stitched ribbon, star dust pen, prisma color pencils, gamsol. blending stumps, silver embossing powder, nestablities dies large scalloped oval and large oval

An added bonus today...

That stamp set I was waiting for came in today... It is from My Favorite Things. They have some interesting designs. You can purchase them from MFT or you can also get them from All That Scraps. I grabbed mine from ATS when she had a sale on some paper going on. 50% of the retail sales from this stamp set goes towards Breast Cancer Research. What better reason to get a stamp set is that.

This is my first card I put together using this set.

So what do you think? I like it alot.

Supplies: papertrey stamper select white cardstock, chocolate chip cardstock, all my memories hex cardstock, pink ribbon, basic black ink, prisma color pencils, gamsol, paper stumps, copic markers for flesh tones and pink ribbon

More Tinkerbella

I got in some of the new spring mini stamps today and a few other things. And i have an idea to combine a stamp with Tinkerbella but have yet to really get the card just right but I did get this one out tonight.

For this card I used fabriano medioevalia 5 inch cards I got from StarLitStudio. I then stamped Tinkerbella from stampingbella kinda off center but I stamped her once on the card and then again on a post-it note. I masked her to stamp the next few images from Stampin Up's new Spring Mini called Doodle This and another set called Doodle That. I used both gamsol magic and stickles to color the image in. I then took some of my Stampin Up ribbon to make a bow and hold a butterfly charm on the card. it really dose sparkle now. For the sentiment I use the Thank you from the hostess Stampin Up set Warmest Regards.

TinkerBella fun....

Well here is my second stamp I got from Stamping Bella. She is called TinkerBella... I think she is just so cute. I just had to use her twice tonight on some Thank You cards. What do you think?

To get a closer look at the cards just click on the pictures.

I used Fabrino Medioevalis cards to make these two cards. I got them from StarLitStudio. I stamped TinkerBella with Black stazon ink. Then I colored her in with prismapencils and gamsol. To add sparkle to her I used icicle stickles. Here is a closer picture of each card.

I used ribbon I had won from GinaK on her blog. It add that touch these cards needed. I used the Thank You sentiment from Stampin Up's hostess set Warmest Regards. I just love that set and I am so addicted to these little Bellas.

Teddybella fun...

I got some bellas the other day... They are so cute. Well tonight I decided to play with Teddybella. I have a cousin who just announced that he was going to be a daddy. So I made this card for him and his wife.

I used my cuttlebug folder baby words with my sizzix machine to make the background on pretty in pink and almost amethyst cardstock. I then framed teddybella with the same color cardstock. I colored the image with prisma pencils and gamsol. I also took some stickles and put it on the rattle and her pocketbook. I think this card turned out so cute.

My Latest Addiction....

My latest addiction is using color pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color my stamps.... there are tons of tutorials on the net for these but two that have helped me learn this technique are gamsol magic on Splitcoaststampers and this one helped me out alot recently cause I am a more visual learner and it was a great tutorial on GinaK's blog.

I made a Thank You card today for my party lite lady who has worked miracles for me in the last few days... long story short she found a replacement piece for me that I thought I would never get again and for less than what I had originally paid for it.

Well on to the card now... I used a Fabriano Medioevalis card for the cardstock which I had gotten from starlitstudio... these cards are so rich for this technique... I took my stampin up set And Everything Nice and stamped it in Black stazon ink then colored it with prismacolor pencils and gamsol... this is such a beautiful card in person.... have a great night.

well while i was playing...

Well while I was playing last night I took out my Stamp set that Shelly sent me for Christmas... It is sorta of a preview of what is coming in the new Spring mini... It is called Polka Dots & Paisley. I really think it has many great uses. I took the Paisley out of the set and made a sheet of background paper.... Let me know what you think...

I again used gamsol magic tutorial from splitcoaststampers to color my images. I even left one unfinished to give the paper the idea of a fade... I am not sure yet what I may use this for yet but maybe something soon....

Ok here is tonights cards...

I tried out The challenge at splitcoaststampers SC104....
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
for inks I used creamy Carmel, sage shadow and basic black classic inks. The paper is the same as the ink as well as whisper white. I used a retired stamp set from Stampin Up called Memory of the Heart and I also used the aida cloth background stamp from them. I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color the image. This was my first time using this technique and it really made the colors pop. I added a little sparkle with my stardust pen to the flowers too...
