Faux Metal....

I got my new stamps and stuff today and had this idea in my head to try with the new level 1 hostess set Party Punch. It is called faux metal.

I will be making more of these cards for Christmas this year.

Supplies:Buckaroo blue cardstock, whisper white cardstock, buckaroo blue in color ink 07, versamark ink, silver embossing powder, party punch hostess set, Sleigh Bells Ring set, floral Background stamp

Here is a close up of the faux metal.

This card turned out prettier than I though it would. Faux metal was one of the techniques that Stampin Up showed us at regionals in April and I have not been brave enough to try it until today. It is really an easy technique. Have a great afternoon and I might be back with more latter you never know.

Oldie but Goodie....

I had to play with a few of my retired items today. I broke out a piece of Cool Caribbean Cardstock along with a retired SU stamp set called Polar Bears. I made my first holiday card for the season....

Supplies: Polar Bears stamp set, very vanilla cardstock, watercolor paper, basic black cardstock, cool Caribbean cardstock, cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, very vanilla craft ink, versamark ink, basic black ink, going grey ink, cool Caribbean reinker, iridescent ice ep, organdy ribbon dyed using soft sky reinker, aquapainter and watercolor crayons.

I had fun with this little couple. I love the bears in this set. They look so much like the coca cola bears around the holiday seasons. I had to play with making a Holiday card today to try and cool off... it seems to be getting hotter now around here. I know next week I will be on a vacation enjoying sunny FL.... but I will try and update here while I am away. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far... Happy stamping everyone.

Challenge card for Janurary

I made this card actually last month for someone special but I like it so much I am going to use it for my Christmas card challenge card on splitcoaststampers for this month. This is such a great challenge you make ten cards a month and share with the group the one to post hers first gets a prize. It helps get your cards made up for next christmas quicker so your not making them at the last minute.

To make this card I took Stampin Up's lovely as a tree stamp and stamped it twice without reinking to give it some depth. I used whisper white cardstock, brushed silver, and brocade blue. For the sentiment I took Happy holidays from the stampin up hostess set warmest regards. To add some sparkle to the card i took my gellyroll stardust pen and outlined the trees and the words.... I really thought this turned out really cool.
