Trying something new...

I did this card a couple of weeks ago and set it out to a friend. And I didn't share here... I feel so bad about that...



There is a technique that has been running around the net that I had to try with this rose from Stampin Up. So I stamp the rose and embossed it. Then grabbed my reinkers and played. I have fallen for browns and blue combinations lately.

This card is almost all SU but I did grab my papertrey ink background set spots and dots. colored the images in with one of my copics...

I even embossed the envelope with my embossing folder from SU.. I've got a preorder out that will be here tomorrow to play with from SU... The new catty happens to be in and I can't wait to look at it and can't wait to get my hands on the new incolors... be prepared for some new samples and colors here soon.

Late Inspiration...

It's late inspiration for me tonight... I've had the idea in my head to play with one of my Justrite stamps and combine it with one of my beautiful Whiff of Joy stamps. It took me stamping both images separately to knock out this beautiful holiday card...



I colored both images with my copics and still had problems knocking this design out... There are three attempts on the desk and boy do they look bad. but after grabbing a few scraps laying around on my desk it came together. I even added a few other stamp companies to the mix... I got my hands on Inkadinkado's Winter bird set and loved the idea of the birds flying out of the lamp as a watermark type image... and the sentiment came from one of my Papertrey Ink stamp sets.


There is so much in this card and it is one of my favorites now and I think I'll make a few more to send out this year... Well I'm off for the night I hope you all are ready for the weekend.

Alittle more time on my hands...

And of course I had to ink up another of the Whiff of Joy stamps and play. Since I had to take my DD to two appointments today I stamped out both the other two stamps and grabbed my copics for a road trip. I started coloring them in bot only got one of them completed today so after dinner was over I set about to make a new card.

I had alittle trouble coming up with a layout for it so I head on over to the CPS Blog to take a look and see what the card sketch for the week was and boy did I like it. So I finished up the image and found a few other things and made this.....



This images are so beautiful... And I think almost any coloring medium will work with them. My next try will have to be watercolor. I think I may have gotten alittle carried away with the bling though but I love it.

This little girl has so much texture to her. I added alittle bit of fuzz to her wings and then the rhinestones to her jeans. Then for the circle I took a Papertrey Ink image from the anniversary set and stamped it on that luscious shimmery paper I found in Micheals about a month ago. (I've sort of been hording it and made myself cut it tonight for the first time.) I then added a few gems to different areas of the gem to pull some of the colors from her and the little bit of DP I used to the side of her.

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop....

Today is the day for Papertrey Ink's monthly Blog Hop and I'm trying again... This time the challenge was put out to add score lines to your project in some way. It seems that it has become really popular to add some sort of score line to your project. I had fun with this.... especially since my scor-pal came earlier this week. You can browse other bloggers joining in on the fun over on the Blog Hop Forum.

Well here is my project for tonight's fun and festivities....



As you can tell I'm still in a strawberry mood... guess I need to go buy some.

I took out my papertrey ink set Green Thumb and played with it this afternoon. I love the papertrey ink pallet inks too they are so fun and easy to use...

Now for alittle closer look at my scoring... I used it to frame my strawberry row but I also gave my watering can some texture my scoring the can... Every line on that can is scored using my scor-pal. It was hard to get a good shot of it but it has such a great look and feel in real life. I also had some pale pink primas that I took and smooshed on the sweet blossom ink pad to help make them match my card...

Scor-pal came...

And you know I had to play with it... I created a lattice card today...

It was a whole lot easier than my scor-it board to use the scor-pal. The scor-pal is a whole lot lighter than I thought it would be and so far I like it and the scors it puts in my projects.


The main image I used is one of my new Magnolia stamps. One of their latest stamps... You can check out their stamps at their blog here. I get my stamps from The Town Scrapper in Canada. I colored my main image with my copics again and cut it using one of my square nestibiliaties dies and my cuttlebug. Well I'm off to see if I can catch up on some other stamping projects and housework...

Finding time to stamp...

...with three kids in the house means... stamping 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there.... However I did get something done... it isn't a beauty but I'll share.



This card is a example of how handy the Fiskars fingertip craft knife and a glass mate come in handy....

I colored my butterflies in with three shades of yellow in my copic markers along with the body is colored with two shades of brown... I love the way these markers blend. After coloring them in I thought they need something else and grabbed a bottle of my crystal stickles and glitter their wings.... They are so pretty now... I may play with another butterfly set in the next day or so but not sure how much stampin I'll get to do tomorrow...I'm going to see Prince Caspien tomorrow can't wait to see it. Well I'm off to see if I can slip in alittle more stampin time in before dinner...Have a great evening.

Quick Birthday....

I was playing around with some sample DP, tonight, that I got a while back and made a couple of cute Birthday cards using my poor neglected Bellas.


Have you noticed I've been in a pink mood lately... Not sure where this is coming from but I'll roll with it for a while. I actually started the card with the layout... my own creation... had no idea what image I was gonna put in that circle. Have you every started a card that way? Usually I know what stamp I'm gonnna use but not tonight. That paisley strip is what started this whole card. I ordered some stamps back a couple months ago and the slipped in strips of various dp with the order for free and I so love this strip design.

After getting the layout designed I then started pulling out various stamps and fitting them within the circle punch out. It came down to the bellas... more balloon abella than the others though.

I stamped her in Adirondack pitch black dye ink and then colored her in with my copics but I also decided to do a little paper piecing with her dress. I think she turned out so cute.... and she is just darling peeking through the window with her balloon.

Late post...

This post should have gone up yesterday but it seems Embarq DSL didn't want me to get online til late tonight.... And you never know how much you miss the Internet until it dies on you for over a day...



I went yesterday to a friends house and was asked to show her and another friend a couple of techniques.... The first technique was dry embossing. Not knowing which type of dry emboss they wanted me to show them I took it all with me... light box, cuttlebug, and crop-a dile. And then a basket full of other things too...

I made this card at 5AM yesterday morning to have an idea of what they might be wanting. I had the retired set fun filled flowers along with its' brass template to use with my lightbox. It was a fun card.... but coming up with an idea that early in the morning was rough.... The best way for me to start my card out was going to SCS and looking at the challenges for the week and the Color challenge fit the book and helped me get this card going... Well I got to try and get a better shot of the other card and hope to be back with it before the night is over... Have a great night.

Berry Sweet

Yup that is exactly how I feel about this card today...



I want to thank everyone for the kind words and prayers. Our car was fixed yesterday and I am very thankful that that was the only damage we had during the storms. My Husband and I went out Tuesday and worked with the red cross delivering food to the areas hardest hit by the storms. The areas were hit so bad.. it actually look like a scene out of a movie. Our area is not used to Tornado's like this we are more prepared for a Hurricane than a tornado so this was unexpected... We were lucky because there were no deaths during this storm. And this really was luck because of the time of day it hit... most people were at work, in school or getting off work. But enough about the storms lets get back to the card....

Last night this hit me after browsing around a few blogs.. My DH didn't like that I stayed up to finish it... but oh well. This designs is the CPS62 sketch of the week.

I colored the House Mouse image in with my copic markers... isn't he so cute with his belly full of strawberries. After coloring my image in I used my newest set of nestiablities, megabilities dies to cut him out and then I also cut a scalloped mat out. I embossed each edge with these dies too. I place a piece of papertrey inc ribbon along the bottom edge and attached a tag to it that says You're Berry Sweet... My Background paper was stamped with Papertrey's anniversary set... I got it for buying 12 unique sets last year and guess what you can get a free set in Feb 2009 just by buying 12 unique sets this year. Well I'm off to get somethings done today... hope everyone has a great afternoon...

After finishing up this card it made me think of sunflowers... I was going to do this as my entry for the papertrey blog hop tonight but it seems they have changed the blog hop and selected a group of bloggers by drawing and my name wasn't drawn. Oh well I still enjoyed doing the card... and liked how it turned out... hope you enjoy the eye candy for today...

Just Because....

Have you ever just wanted to send someone a card just because.... no apparent reason. That is me today. So I pulled out my newest My Favorite Things stamp set Meet me at the Cafe and my 6x6 pad of papertrey inc designer paper Pink Patterns.



The image and the dp worked so well together. I love papertrey inc's new colors and they have paper, ribbon and ink that all matches wonderfully together. The colors I used on this card were all last months release. This month they had yellow shades... I can't wait to see next months colors.

I did a little paper piecing and coloring with my copics on my image... I love my copics and the way they blend. The 6x6 pad images on the dp were perfect sizes to make the clothes on the girls. I have a friend in mind to send this too just have to get the envelop all address and ready to go. I hope you are having a great afternoon. It is beautiful here and so warm... I'm off to go play some more...

Friendships...

I decided to play with last weeks Splitcoaststamper's tutorial flap card.



My Flap card uses some of Papertrey Inc's newest cardstock... more colors to add to my collection ... a girl can never have enough paper. I also used some of their designer 6x6 paper on the card. Nicole is such a genius in her designs. I also had a Stampin Up! set that my upline gave me for promoting last month called Take Three.

This card was fun to make but look at the inside of it...
This sentiment came from Papertrey Inc's Out on a Limb set and is so beautiful... I think it fits friendship perfectly... "To the world you may be just one person, but to one you may be the world Josephine Billings". Friendships are so valuable to many and each friend I have made in my life has meant so much to me... I hope you all have a wonderful evening and that even my readers I consider to be my friends and you all keep me going...

Sympathy cards....

Sympathy cards are so hard for me to make. I guess that's why I always find myself making one when I need it... never seem to keep them on hand. Today a friend of ours lost a parent so I'm in need of two cards... This is the first one I made and needless to say I'll be making the other one latter.



I used CPS sketch #56 for this card and then grabbed one of my Thomas Kinkade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. These images are perfect for sympathy cards.

I colored this with my copic markers... these images are so fun to color. Before coloring it in I stamped it on whisper white cardstock with my adirondack slate inkpad. After finishing the coloring I masked out the oval and embossed it with UTEE. The embossing powder makes the colors really pop. I then created a frame for the image with a piece of creamy caramel. I used my Fiskars finger tip craft knife to cut the center out for the frame. I really enjoyed coloring and coming up with this card... I hope it brings some comfort to my friend and their family... I'm off to try and make the other card. Have a great afternoon.

First Papertrey Inc Blog Hop post...

Today's post is an answer to Papertrey Inc's Blog Hop Contest... All information on this fun contest can be found here. There is also a section in Papertrey Ink Forum where you can vote on the blogs and talk about all the amazing projects everyone has created. It can be found here. The Challenge for this card was to make ribbon your main focal image on your project. My card is simple, very little stamping, just cardstock and ribbon.




I love the clean look of this card too. I think it will be the start of another card I will need on Monday... I took and scored a track for my ribbon to lay in on my card with my mini scor-it tool. I then also ran the white piece through my cuttlebug twice with one of my newest cuttlebug folders swiss dots. I loved the simplicity of this card... I then inked up the sentiment with black stazon ink and stamped it on the ribbon.


Inside of this card I stamped a Birthday sentiment from this months papertrey release Birthday Basics...

Another Slider...

I got some new stamps in and then I checked out the new Rubbernecker challenge. I knew my new Stamps went well with the colors so for now I used some My Favorite Things stamps for today but latter in the week I'll give it a try with a rubbernecker stamp...



And of course I thought the colors are great for the beach.... You can find all the challenge info over on Jeanne's Blog Inky Paws.

Of course it is another slider and I had to make it a Birthday on for a Friend of mine... Her Birthday was yesterday and I'm a day late... I felt really bad but this card is just her style... She is a big beach fan. I'm dropping this in the mail to her tomorrow and hope she doesn't mind getting it a few days late. I loved making these cards they are so fun and easy to make once you make your first one...


I colored my image in with my copics and played alittle with my blender to tone some of the shading down... That blender pen makes a big difference with these markers. If anyone hasn't seen any of My Favorite Things stamps they are known for their headless women and yes she is headless here but I add the hat from the set to give the illusion that it is behind that big hat. I used a stampin dimensional to pop it and the beach poles up on the card. I actually used Faux layers on it too... using my nestie die of course and a copic... that brown layer is actually part of the same piece of cardstock as my main image...

Well I'm off today with my kids and the twins... It's Spring Break this week and I bet I do alot of late night stampin... Have a great afternoon...

Two challenges in one...

First I have to thank two wonderful ladies who have inspired tonight's card... Dawn who posted today a wonderful video tutorial on making these cute cards( you can find the tutorial here) and to Kristina for posting a great color combo inspiration over on her blog (it can be found here.)

My card is a double slider card and I love the color combo...


I found a stamp set that had been sitting in the corner of my stamp room collecting dust and decided to put it to work on this card...
I stamped part of the main flower in this set and watercolored it with blush blossom, groovy guava, and wild wasabi. I then could not resist putting some stickles on the flowers...

I needed the perfect sentiments to go on the pullouts and I then reach for my papertrey inc set Out on a Limb. The sentiments in this set are all so beautiful. I really had to dig in my ribbon stash to find the perfect one for this card... but I did find a piece... well I'm off for the night hope you all had a great evening...

Today's card is using another Elzybell stamp I got... I love these little chicks. I colored them with my copics again and used a few more scraps up again... I don't like to waste my paper much...

I also used those little stickers again on one of the eggs to give it alittle bling... I will try to see what I can pick up at the stamp store tomorrow... I am off.. seems my DH and I have had an awful bit of luck with cars this week and we only have our truck and my dad's truck to use... His car decided to have a few issues hoping tomorrow to get it back. I so don't like staying at home so much....

Magnolia playin...

I decided to play with Kraftin' Kimmie's stamp sketch challenge today. And of course I have been dying to break in my new cuttlebug flower dies too. So this is what I came up with....


It's a Tag card and fits in a standard A2 envelope. I die cut my flowers and the centers were just calling for something then I remembered the Dot Sparkler stickers by Stampendous.... I've had them since Christmas and have yet to open them...


I colored my image in with my copic markers.... and took some of those tiny little sticker to each center of her daisy she is holding....

My color combo came from my designer paper... Basic Grey's Two Scoops 6x6 pad... I love the stripes and the pink and green are just so yummy... My sentiment came from my Papertrey Inc stamp set Out on a Limb... There are some awesome sentiments in this set.

Well I am off for the night I have choir tonight and our Easter Cantata is this Sunday so tonight maybe a little long... have a great night...

A get well card...

My father asked me to make him a get well card for a friend of his. I could not resist using one of my new papertrey inc sets, Out on a Limb. I think I ended up stamping the image out about three or more times to get that perfect image for this card.



I love the quotes in this set but none of them said get well to me so I grabbed one of my Stampin Up! sets and used the sentiment "praying for you." The inside is left blank for my dad to write what he feels needs to be said.

I stamped this image and then cut it out using my retangle nestablities dies to both cut and emboss the image. I used some of papertrey's new perfect match card stock and their Everyday Blessing designer paper to help bring this card togather. I think the vellum cardstock frame around the edge of the image gives it a more elegant look also. Hope you enjoyed today's card and I am going to see what I can do today since tomorrow I have training and will be back on Sunday to tell you all about it... have a great weekend.

Easter Wishes..

I'm not feeling too well today seems the bug has hit me but I've had this image all colored for a couple of days and wanted to get a card made with it to show you... This little guy is so cute.



The litle bunny angel is from Rubbernecker's Stamp Oasis Fantasy collection. I don't think there is a stamp in that collection that isn't on my wishlist. This is another image I took with me to my son's dental appointment last week and colored while I waited. Today I finished it...
I colored the little bunny with my copics and copic spica glitter pens... my camera doesn't want to pick up those beautiful sparkles. I didn't like my little guy floating on the cardstock so I took my micron pen and drew in some grass. I also didn't like a white sky so much so I took one of my stipple brushes out with some soft sky ink and bounced around the little guy.

Igrabbed my basic grey two scoops pad and found just the right dp to add to the card too. My sentiment is from papertrey's last release many massages... Well I have one more card in my head that I'm going to try before I head back to my bed... ugh I hate being sick.
